Coral Beach is located in the north of Skye, by the little crofting village of Claigan, which is 7.2 km (4.5 miles) north along a single path road from the community of Dunvegan. If you’re coming from Portree, it is 41 km (25.5 miles) and takes approximately 35 minutes. The beach is made of mashed white coral and the seaweed makes the water seem tropical blue when the sun appears. The sand is also made of many tiny, soft snail shells. Coral Beach is a truly magnificent place, ideal for a family picnic and a swim.
