Great Yarmouth has, in total, around 24 km (15 mi) of glorious, soft sandy beaches to explore. The Central Beach, lying between the Britannia Pier to the north and Wellington Pier to the south, features all the facilities you would expect of a seaside town including organised games. It is Marine Conservation Society Recommended. Boat trips are also available from here to see the colony of grey seals at Scroby Sands, a sand bank off the coast of Norfolk.
The beaches either side of this stretch are generally quieter and offer wide sand dunes and open swathes of soft sand for walking and relaxing.
