About Hilbre Island

Hilbre Island is a large group of islands at the mouth of the estuary of the river Dee, located in the region of Merseyside, England. The estuary is one of the ten most significant estuaries in Europe for overwintering wildfowl and waders. The group of islands is a Local Nature Reserve and a Site of Special Scientific Interest. It has no permanent residents since 2012. The islands are a unique experience, ideal for those who enjoy discovering new areas, being one of 43 tidal islands that can be reached on foot from the mainland UK.
