About Pensarn Abergele Beach

Pensarn Abergele Beach is a nice shingle beach near the town of Abergele. It is a dog friendly beach, with no lifeguard service provided. The neighboring promenade is great for taking a nice stroll and is suitable for wheelchair users too. In 1977 it was designated a Site of Special Scientific Interest, being the best example of a vegetated shingle bank in the region and for its rich flora. It holds also a Seaside Award and a Green Coast award. It provides a couple of facilities such as toilets, shops, a seasonal cafe, a disabled access point to the beach and is great for some watersports, including kayaking, canoeing, wind surfing.
