Leigh Woods is an area of woodland on the south west part of the Avon Gorge, in the north side of the county of Somerset, England. It covers a surface of 2 square km (0.77 square mi), and is on a ridge that mostly consists of limestone, with some sandstone which runs from Clifton to Clevedon. The south side is a surface of former grassland with old pollards, mainly oak and some small leaved lime. The nord part it comprises ancient woodland of old coppice with standards and includes a vast variety of trees, such as Bristol whitebeam and wild service tree.
