About Littlehampton Beach

A lively, family friendly seaside resort, Littlehampton Beach is largely shingle but low tide reveals sand. East Beach is concentrated on Littlehampton Harbour, at the mouth of the River Arun where it flows into the English Channel. Swimming, wind surfing, kite surfing, sailing, diving and fishing are all available here, together with boat trips round the harbour and further afield. The West Beach is quieter and is a Site of Special Scientific Interest and Local Nature Reserve. The sand dunes and surrounding area are great for bird watching and wildlife spotting. The beach is dotted with fossils. The whole beach has Blue Flag status.
