Loch Assynt

Loch Assynt is located in Sutherland, Scotland. It has a length pf 9.65 km (6.0 mi) and about 1.5 km (0.9 mi) maximum breadth. The zone is one of a scenic natural beauty, it covers some of the best landscape in the Highland region, surrounding the summits of Ben More, Canisp, Cul Beag, Cul Mor and Quinag. In the area are two National Nature Reserves, Inchnadamph and part of Inverpolly. The surroundings are well-known with anglers, the fishing being popular in angling literature spanning more than a century. There is good fishing for trout, sea-trout and salmon.
