Loch Long is located near Arrochar, in Argyll and Bute, Scotland. It is about 32 km (20 miles) long, a width of 1.6-3.2 km (1-2 miles). Loch Long extends from the Firth of Clyde at its southwestern side and has an arm on its western end, Loch Goil. Historically, it was a border between Argyll and Dunbartonshire, but in 1996 it moved entirely in the district of Argyll and Bute. It is a well known place for sport diving. The loch is home to oyster catchers and otter. It gives good see fishing from either the shore or by boat.
