This south facing, wide sandy beach is backed by sand dunes and is popular with families and other picnickers. Even at high tide, a significant proportion of the beach remains. The beach is relatively flat so the waters are shallow and safe for swimming. Boat trips run from the harbour. It lies on the South West Coast Path and there are Clay Trails for walkers and cyclists leading to the Eden Project (6.4 km/4 mi).
