About Polzeath Beach

Billed as one of the world's most renowned surfing destinations, conditions at Polzeath Beach are good for surfers of all abilities: the waters are generally safe and clean (the beach holds the Blue Flag award), but watch out for the large surf with rips. The beach itself is sand and shingle at the mouth of a river, and shelves gently into the sea. Backed by cliffs, there are a variety of terrific coastal walks and the chance to spot dolphins and a wide variety of sea birds, including puffins. A local company offers kayaking and coasteering trips in the area.
