The Lake Beach at Poole Harbour lies just to the west of Hamworthy Park Beach. It is sand and shingle (muddy in places). Beach activities include fishing, sailing and wind surfing - zoning is in place for water sports. Swimming is safe in the shallow waters here. For nature lovers, there is the chance to spot seals in Poole Harbour and the beach is backed by Ham Common Local Nature Reserve, where the rare sand lizard and Dartford warbler have found ideal habitats to thrive in the heathland habitats here. The beach is also Marine Conservation Society Recommended.
