Port Ellen Beach is located in Argyll and Bute, Scotland. Visiting Port Ellen by boat, it is absurd to miss the uncommon, square-formed Carraig Fhada Lighthouse, at the western entry to the bay, built in 1832. Port Ellen includes clean whitewashed terraces overlooking a bay of golden sand. The spread of shore immediately north east of the city is a catching spot and has the advantage of being home to three out of Islay's eight working distilleries, Ardbeg, Lagavulin and Laphroaig, all of which welcome tourist.
