Portobello Beach is a delightful beach perfect for swimming and sunbathing, situated near Edinburgh, Scotland. Remarkable wooden groynes were built to help prevent erosion on the beach. The city of Portobello was a town on its own right and it is now a residential suburb of Edinburgh. Its golden sand attracts many visitors, thanks to the Seaside Award. The beach hosts a couple of events, such as the annual Big Beach Busk, triathlon events and volleyball contests. It also offers many choices of bars and cafes, restaurants and gift shops.
