Portreath Beach

While retaining all of its natural charm and uncommercialised nature, Portreath beach can get very busy in summer. Its soft, fine sand and shingle beach sits in a sheltered harbour, protected by the dramatic cliffs and harbour wall. This attracts families and surfers alike, as well as body boarders, wind surfers, swimmers and those looking for a peaceful day's fishing. The beach lies on the South West Coast Path and bird watchers and animal lovers can observe hosts of sea birds and Atlantic seals in the coves below. The beach is Marine Conservation Society Recommended and close to plenty of inland wooded and parkland walks.
