Rackwick Beach stands in a hollow three hills and faces the wild Atlantic Ocean, being located in Hoy, Orkney, Scotland. Although is strikingly desolate it is a beautiful beach, framed by red sandstone cliffs, pinkish sands are backed by flatten boulders. It is a boulder beach, home to o variety of birds and plants. Rackwick lines the slopes above the bay, many tourists pass through when driving to the Old Man of Hoy. Looking over the sea from this beautiful beach it is not difficult to observe why so many vessels should founder here. The area is popular with birdwatchers and hillwalkers.
