This country park protects the ruins of a 12th century Cistercian monastery and a later country house, now Grade I listed and scheduled as an Ancient Monument. The remains lie within 150 acres of historic parkland, woodland and gardens in the North Nottinghamshire area known as the Dukeries.
Part of the park is designated as a Local Nature Reserve. Other attractions include a contemporary craft centre, formal gardens, children’s play village and a sculpture trail. There are woodland and lakeside walks and a maze to explore. A large grassed area allows space for picnics and for the events and festivals that are held here throughout the year.
