About Three Sisters, Glen Coe

About Three Sisters

The scenic northern ridges of the highest mountain in the old Argyll, Bidean nam Bian, are named the Three Sisters collectively, and individually they are Beinn Fhada, Gear Aonach and Aonach Dubh. Each ridge is steeply sided as they extend northwards into Glen Coe. Gearr Aonach and Aonach Dubh meet at Stob Coire nan Lochan, Bidean nam Bian’s subsidiary top; while the third, Beinn Fhada is separated from its other sisters by the Coire Gabhail glen.

Exploring the area by any means is demanding and only experienced walkers keen to use their scrambling skills should attempt it as the weather can change and become treacherous rapidly.
