About Tolcarne Beach

About Tolcarne Beach

An excellent beach for families and surfers alike, Tolcarne is sandy and backed by relatively high cliffs in a crescent-shaped bay. It is sheltered and north-west facing. There are beautiful and impressive views from cliff top walks. Surfing, swimming, snorkelling and sea fishing take place, as well as boogie boarding in the Tolcarne Wedge. Access is via Great Western Beach at low tide, but otherwise only by steep cliff steps. The beach gets very busy in summer despite this. It is Marine Conservation Society Recommended and there are rock pools to explore at low tide.
