About Ben Alder

Ben Alder is the highest mountain in the remote area of Highland, Scotland, lying between Loch Ericht and Glen Spean. It is 1148 metres (3766 feet) high, being the 25th highest Munro. It is rarely climbed, due to its distant location. It presents a wide plateau enclosed by cliffs and rocky slopes, being a mountain of rememberable character and an almost palpable personality. The entire area is perfect for remote cross-country backpacking journeys. Hikers should take care in snow conditions, the hillwalking requires ice-axe, crampons and good skills of scrambling.
