Budleigh Salterton Beach is situated on the south coast of Devon, around 24 km (15 mi) south of Exeter. It’s a pebbled beach which, together with the cliffs that back it, forms part of the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site. Fossil hunters may strike lucky here, although you’re not permitted to remove your finds from the beach as it is classified as a Site of Special Scientific Interest!

The beach is also part of a stretch awarded the Quality Coast Award and the water is of acceptable quality. Activities popular with visitors include kayaking and canoeing, diving and snorkelling, fishing, swimming and wind surfing.
