Burrator Reservoir stands on the south side of Dartmoor within Dartmoor National Park and is managed by the South West Lakes Trust. It is a popular location for walking, horse riding and cycling along the large number of footpaths and bridleways in the area. Many of the trails lead onto Dartmoor itself. The reservoir is surrounded by appealing mixed woodland and a discovery centre outlines the history of the site and the wider area. Bank fishing for rainbow and brown trout is available by permit and a circular walk around the reservoir is possible.
