Draycote Water is a reservoir and adjoining country park, owned and managed by Severn Trent Water. Its surface area is 2.43 km2 (0.9 mi2), making it Warwickshire’s largest expanse of water. The reservoir is a major attraction for sailing, wind surfing and power boating. Fishing for brown trout and rainbow trout takes place from either the shore or hired boats. Walking and cycling are also popular on an 8 km (5 mi) tarmac road running round the reservoir, suitable for all ages and abilities. Bird watchers can view common and rare species from a bird hide. A community of alpacas lives on a farm close by – three public footpaths allow visitors to view them.
