About Felixstowe Beaches

Felixstowe South and North Beaches lie either side of the pier in a sheltered bay. The South Beach is recently renovated and is sandier than the pebble and shingle North Beach. Along the length of both beaches runs a 3.2km (2mi) promenade. At South Beach, the only water activity permitted is swimming; from the North Beach, fishing, wind surfing and sailing take place.

The beaches are close to several footpaths and trails for walkers. Both are Marine Conservation Society Recommended and conservationists may be interested in the plant stinking goosefoot, a protected species, which grows in patches across the beaches.
