About Holywell Bay Beach

This north west facing beach is large and sandy, offering strong currents, swell and surf for surfers and body boarders, who have a designated area for their activities when the beach is busy. Swimming is permissible in designated areas, but care should be taken.

The beach can feel quite exposed in windy weather, but there are many sheltered spots behind the sand dunes. At low tide, children can paddle in sandy pools and shallow streams. On the westerly side, the beach is backed by cliffs and there can be a risk of being cut off at high tide here. The beach is on the Cornish Coastal Path for walkers.
