About Minnis Bay

Minnis Bay is a long, sandy beach in Birchington, Kent, backed by grassland and farmland with cliffs. Activities here include wind surfing, kite boarding and sailing. Zoning is in place for water sports, so it’s safe for family play. There is also a paddling pool, a children’s outdoor play area and a picnicking area. At high tide, the beach is all but reclaimed by the sea, leaving only a small patch of sand. The water quality is acceptable and the beach has in the past been granted the Blue Flag Award. Coastal cycle routes and paths for walkers run alongside and are clearly marked at the beach entrance.
