About Runswick Bay Beach

Runswick Bay has a sandy beach with mud patches, backed by cliffs. There are plenty of great coastal walks with breath-taking views, including stretches of the Cleveland Way. on the beach itself, children will enjoy rock pooling and fossil hunting - constant erosion of the cliffs means there is always a fresh supply of fossils to be found. Other activities include surfing, boating, swimming and fishing. The lower car park fills up quickly in busy season and there is a steep walk down from the cliff top car park. The beach has won the Quality Coast Award and is Marine Conservation Society Recommended.
