Spurn Nature Reserve is located in East Riding of Yorkshire, England. Spurn is an ideal site for all seasons, but no doubt one of its best features highlights is the spring and autumn scene of bird migration. It's not just the wildlife that mesmerizes the tourist, but every step discovers an insight into its rich maritime, cultural and defence history. The most obvious is, of course, the Spurn Lighthouse, currently going in a full restoration. It is a dynamic place, in the past people have tried to fortify it against natural processes. The most dramatic was during the tidal surge in 2013, when a section of the road was ripped out, leaving Yorkshire with a newly formed island at high tide.
