St. Mildred’s Bay is in Westgate and has a sandy beach backed by cliffs. At high tide, only a small patch of beach remains, and even this disappears during the spring tides. Lower tides reveal rock pools and there is a promenade and a tidal pool. Sailing, swimming and wind surfing take place here; alternatively, crazy golf, a bowling green and tennis courts are available nearby. The beach holds a Blue Flag award and has an acceptable water quality. There is disabled access to the beach and the larger neighbouring resort of Margate is also within walking distance.
