Wroxham Broad lies to the west of the River Bure, near Wroxham village, within the Norfolk Broads National Park. It covers an area of 34.4 ha. Navigation through the broad is permitted, but boats are not allowed to land unless belonging to members of the Norfolk Broads Yacht Club.
The island which lies between the two channels linking the Broad to the Bure has undergone restoration work to reduce erosion and restore the ecology, which has led to a more varied bird population and more flora. The broad is easiest to access by water, because there is very little in the way of footpaths or roads leading to it, which helps to protect the environment beyond.
