Hawkridge Reservoir lies near the village of Spaxton in Somerset and is a drinking water reservoir adjacent to the Quantocks Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It has been designated as a County Wildlife Site, providing valuable habitats for insects, amphibians and wildfowl, especially overwintering birds. For this reason, no dogs are allowed on the site. The reservoir is used by anglers and is home to rainbow, brown, tiger, golden and blue trout. As it is only a small reservoir, there is little in the way of space around the waterline and so walking round the perimeter is not permitted. However, a number of public footpaths lead to it.
