Portwrinkle has two main beaches and a few smaller, less accessible coves. The larger beach to the west is predominantly shingle with rock pools at low tide and a small harbour. Finnygook Beach, to the east, is favoured by families as it is sandier with rock ledges at low tide. Finnygook is also popular with experienced surfers. Swimming is possible, but recommended at higher tides, as low tides bring strong currents - pay attention to warnings locally if you intend to swim here. Both beaches are accessible via fairly steep paths from the cliffs above.
