About Steall Falls

About Steall Falls

Steall Falls is also known as An Steall Ban or Steall Waterfall and is Scotland’s second highest waterfall at 120m (390ft). Located in Glen Nevis near Fort William in Highland, its watercourse is Allt Coire a’Mhail. It is certainly a ‘must visit’ for hikers and photographers. The track to this extraordinary waterfall leads through the dramatic and beautiful Nevis Gorge, with a well-marked path, but very rugged and craggy underfoot. The walk is relatively simple through mixed ancient woodland but it is advisable to wear the appropriate footwear.
